That is hard to do eh? I mean hold back that much and try to win, when you know you have more to spend and probably need it to win. 135 is excellent bro.

Took a mini-break and got back into SWC last night. Only spent $200 in 3 rounds and have 2 more to go. Question is will I get lucky (either with random map 4-5 or combat) or will I get too greedy trying to beat you guys' top scores. =) Never finished a gauntlet before so I'm not sure the rounds get progressively harder. In fact, I bought an extra starting interceptor in round 3 just to 'be safe' but turns out I could've saved $10.

The thing I like about gauntlets is it's about finishing at lowest resource costs and not about when you finish so I naively think I can finish this near the $200 mark. =) 'course, the randomness helps to mix things up a bit and I tested out round I of the next two levels just to get a feel for how things get.

You said it " randomness" you could have 1 or 2 enemies or 5 they could be close or far. I two have been way ahead and then got greedy but then again you never know when keeper and others could be right next door. Good luck I hope you raise the bar. The rounds do not "get progressively harder".

Q: Once you finish a gauntlet, where do you see the remaining war chest?

Luck of the draw has it that the couple last rounds were harder than expected. Seeing I had so much $ left, I spent more in round 4 to guarantee a round 5. Only wish I spent less when I won but I think I needed the insurance. Could also simply be I was so 'ahead' that I just spent it. =)

However, Round 5 was a FULL REUNION. Caught in the midsouth between the Oracle and Keepers (barely 3-4 quadrants away) with one planet under me out of only 4-5 planets on the map and Cynders not far off. Took a while to get out away from the southern action and from there, had to beat back the Swarm and Redogs in the far North. In the end, I spent more than anticipated ($85) just to finish the round with 10 armor left. Could've spent more but I wouldn't make it to the scoreboards.

Also, is there a way to perhaps save a 'screenshot' of a random map, including for future replay value. Maybe even for sharing with other players. I wonder if I could've spent less on the last rounds.

Didn't raise the bar as much as I had hoped but I think $200 is very doable. Just need to be very prudent on $ with perhaps a couple very decent maps. With good maneuvering and some luck, I think spending only $40-50 in a couple early rounds may even help hit the $225 mark.

Already playing Ensign and Sergeant so let's see what happens.
