Strategy Screens

A quick example of a Space War Commander battle strategy. In this example the player launches a surprise attack on the enemy rear. This is not the best way to beat this level. Download the demo and see if you can do better.

1.The enemy is represented by the red ships and star base towards the top. The player is in purple towards the bottom. The enemy has better access to better planets, the ability to take any planet at will, and a head start. How would you win in this situation?

2. The Player sends a fast strike squadron made of of assassin ships on a flyby of the enemy’s base to deal with their first attack. The strike squadron then cuts to enemy’s rear and snatches the planet in a daring maneuver. The freighter on the left is sent on a trading run.

3.The enemy has taken the blue planet. The fast strike team responds, but even as they do, the enemy launches a strike at the player’s base. The player has a defensive force in position and can take advantage of mercenary interference.

4.The running battle for the three planets continues. The player takes the blue planet but the enemy takes the second green planet. The player also sends a fast ship to occupy a planet.

5.The player tries to take the second green planet with his strike force but he is repulsed. The enemy also goes around the player’s back to retake the blue planet. The player is losing the battle for the most important planets! However, the player is now consistently repulsing the enemy’s attacks in the center. The player can afford to reinforce his strike force.

6.The player now changes strategy. He slowed his enemies progress enough with his initial strike. Now the player retakes the second green planet and holds his position. Giving ground only grudgingly until he has fashioned a hammer large enough for a knock out blow. Then the player launches a multi-pronged final attack.

7.The player has done it. Thanks to a suprise initial strike the player managed to cripple the enemy’s ability to make war. However his base was nearly destroyed. A half minute more and the player would have lost. Can you think of a better strategy? Download the demo and see if your strategy would really work.
